Blending beauty and function, artistic creativity and historical accuracy, my endeavor is always to provide clients with an instrument that tailors to all aspects of their musical needs and aesthetic desires.
I am a maker of fine, individually crafted bowed stringed instruments with over 30 years of experience. My interest in early music led me to specialize in those instruments from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
Instruments include members of the violin family (in either modern or baroque form), violas da gamba from pardessue to violone, and violas d'amore – for which I have a particular fondness.
My process is to work closely with clients to make either copies of old original works or to create new models that incorporate the dimensions, proportions, details, and ornamentation to best suit their needs.
Memberships include: The American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, The Violin Society of American, and the Viola da Gamba Society of America.
